My name is Ste Parker and I have been training on the weights for the past 2 years, 4 times a week and have found a hobby that not only do I love but has changed the way I look and feel. When I first joined the gym I was weighing in at just over 9 stone with not much muscle but not much fat, i looked like the average teenager in any gym with only one thing on my mind and that was to get big. It took me around 3 month to get use to being sore after training and to get to know what machines did what. From the early days of seeing some of the big lads lifting the massive weights and looking on with amazement, i could now stand my ground and was lifting a good weight and I was confident around the gym and had made some good friends - the gym came more of a social thing as well as doing the thing that I loved - I had worked out that in 6 month I had gained 19lb so I should be close to 12 stone in another 6 month and with hard work I would reach my goal of 14 stone and ripped by 2 years. The training was going good and my diet was good but the weight gain started to slow down - this was not what i wanted, I wanted to be bigger, so I started to train harder and for longer. One big lad Lee who worked in the gym had seen what I was doing and after a few weeks he pulled me to one side and told me I had started to do it wrong - i was over training and not lifting the right way. I was swinging the weights so i could lift more and was heading for an injury. Lee told me to stop being in a rush to gain the weight as you always gain the most when you first start bodybuilding and to stick to the plan but start using supplements to make up the weight gain.
